Field Trip & The Violet Wind

Time has become a big part of my creative process, since it is throughout time that I had discover the means to communicate my ideas beyond words.  It is also true that, in order to create or express something, I have to give it some time to truly find out how I want to work out a tought or emotion.

A good example of this act of experimentation is the Violet Wind photo series and the Field Trip video clip. Although the shooting was done the same day, each post production process is the result to different situations. On one hand, the photos I took captured the nostalgia I felt at the moment. Purple color has a special meaning to me, so the fact that I stumble upon a field full of violet flowers being animate by the will of the wind, blew my mind. On the other hand, while taking the pictures I decided to start filming, the image on video wasn´t as powerful as the photos, but still I thought it will be a good idea to keep record of that day, it was a unique moment so I knew I had to encode this experience into something meaningful.

Many had happened since that sunday field trip I did along with my friends. Recently I was able to get back on track and decide what to do with this project and the video I filmed. When I saw the footage I thought about how I felt that day, but my feelings were different, time had passed once again.

It also took some time to find the right music to complete the idea I was trying to express. Most of the music I choose at the beginning was somehow melancholic, but then I discovered 'Hallon' by Christian Bjoerklund, a very talented swedish artist based in Berlin. It was his music that allowed me to connect my emotions with the images I recorded in order to create something new, and for that I am grateful.
