HOTEL ANTELAR

HOTEL ANTELAR

Mérida is one of my top places to visit, relax, eat, and of course, to take photos. Therefore I was honored when my dear friend Andreas Croitoru, Senior Architect at Denniston Sdn Bhd and GM at ADSDESIGN, asked me to join him and a team of creatives, to build up the voice and visual identity of Antelar, Casa Destino.

Antelar is a design hotel located in the beautiful city of Mérida in the Peninsula of Yucatan, México. It is a place where time stands still for you to relax and be in the moment, where life is peaceful and your senses are being stimulated in a very subtle and refined way.

I must admit I had little experience taking photos and drone video for hotels, therefore this was a challenge I was very excited to take from the beginning. The architecture, furniture, textiles, food and colors were inspiring enough to make me explore and capture the feelings and emotions Antelar has to offer to its guests.

It was no easy task to achieve these images; specially the photos of the rooms and pretty much every space in order to get the right perspective, prevent it from getting distorted, find the right time of the day in which I could use natural light and capture a certain mood for that specific location. So there is no doubt the photoshoot at Antelar, was a great opportunity for my growth as a photographer and I am confident with the final result.

Besides doing this photoshoot, I was asked to do the layout design for their web site and to come up with a communication strategy that included; defining the voice and tone of the Hotel in order to connect with the audiences they were looking to target. This was a whole other level of my participation in the project, an exercise that allowed me to learn and enrich my abilities as a communications professional.

I am a content creator and communications strategist doing collaborations with cultural projects, festivals, non-governmental organizations, institutions and commercial clients.
