EL EXTERIOR SALVAJE

In Mexico, the Barrio or Exterior Salvaje is a space with its own identity, immersed in the urban context of most cities. The emergence of these micro universes, the people who have inhabited them, the passage of time and the weather of each region, are some of the elements that give them a unique sense of belonging.

Immersed in the Historic Center of downtown Merida, between Parque Santiago and Santa Ana, Barrio Antelar is a wild and fertile territory for the curiosity of those who decide to explore it. Every facade, door, window and crack is an opportunity to be surprised and find stories.

This is how the photographic documentation; Barrio Antelar - the wild exterior, beyond portraying part of the environment that characterizes this geography, is a series that seeks to establish a conversation with the space. The collection is a visual dialogue, a journey where any walker can discover and recognize the specimens that inhabit this new destination.

The session proposes to walk through the neighborhoods of the White City with curiosity, imagining the stories behind the facades and doors. The Exterior Salvaje changes color and texture with the passage of time, in some cases crumbling and in others, being reborn. The photo session captures a moment of that history, today they may no longer look the same, it will be a matter of going out to the street to explore and find out.
